(Choku Rei is pronounced: "Cho-Koo-Ray") The general meaning of Choku Rei is: "Place the power of the universe here". The power symbol can be used to increase the power of Reiki. It can also be used for protection. See it as a light switch that has the intention to instantly boost your ability to channel Reiki energy.
(Sei He Ki is pronounced: "Say-Hey-Key") The general meaning of Sei He Ki is:"God and man become one". The Emotional symbol brings together the "brain and the body". It helps people to bring to the surface and release the emotional causes of their problems. This symbol can be used to help with emotional and mental healing.
(Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is pronounced as: "Hon-Sha-Zee-Show-Nen") The symbol has a general meaning of: "No past, no present, no future" or it can have the meaning of "The Buddha in me contacts the Buddha in you". The Distance symbol can, as its name implies, be used to send energies over a distance.
Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a "universal energy" is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.
Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy). One of the basic ideas held by those who practice Reiki is that this vital energy can be channeled to support the body's natural ability to heal itself.
Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks. Improving the flow of energy around the body. Reiki can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
During a Reiki treatment you will lie or sit comfortably and the Reiki practitioner will place their hands on or near the body, allowing the Reiki energy to flow.
You do not need to remove any clothing except for coat and shoes.
Distant Reiki works the same as an in-person Reiki session except that the person receiving Reiki is not in the same room. Remember that Reiki is precisely directed energy. Think of it as the practitioner dropping a stone in the middle of the lake. The ripples are healing energy and they meet you at the shore.
Distance Reiki works according to the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all energy matter and part of a larger whole. As such, invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows the practitioner to link an object to the energy field of the recipient.
What happens during a Reiki session?
During an in person Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands on or just above a client’s body. The practitioner conducts universal energy from their arms, and out through their hands where it flows into the client’s body.
During a distance Reiki session, the practitioner channels the healing energy to the receiver. The results of a distance Reiki session and in person session are the same as the universal energy is not limited by time or space.
It’s important to note, the practitioner does not rely on their own personal energy, rather they are conduits for focusing the energy from the world around them. In an in person and distance Reiki session, the energy drawn in by the recipient is done so through the practitioner.
The energy will go where it is needed and in the order that the recipient’s body and mind determines.
If you have never had the benefit of receiving a Reiki session, you need to schedule a session. You must experience a session in order to fully understand it.
